Base Casting Resin

Resins SP701PA/BR500PA are low viscosity resins, that can be filled up to a loading of 70:30 Filler:Resin by weight.

SP701PA accepts lower filler loadings, but is more effective at keeping the fillers in suspension. However it has a slightly higher exotherm than BR500PA. For casting of items in simulated Marble, Stone or Ivory. BR500PA will accept a high filler content and is particularly suitable for use in thin castings. However because of the tendency to 'drop out' the filler, it needs to be used on a 'mix and pour' basis. Trylotuf - Impact Modifier - Resin toughening agent significantly increases the toughness of the resin. Add at 25% to unfilled resin and 12% to ready filled resin ie FC702PA. Castings with very thin sections are still likely to break, use Quickcast for these. NB: Trylotuf is unsuitable for embedding resins. Liquid Catalyst Hardener

Trylon Liquid Catalyst is essential for curing our polyester casting resins. The catalyst is added at an addition of 1-2% by weight of resin. The 20, 50 and 100ml packs have droppers to aid accurate addition. Specialist Casting

Quickcast is an exceptionally strong two-part urethane casting resin designed to reproduce excellent detailed models from flexible rubber moulds. The pot life of this material is only two minutes, so it is essential to have everything ready before you proceed. Working temperature for the resin and moulds must be at least 20-22°C. Before use spray the mould surface with Cilase 1711E or similar release agent.
